Kodak to discontinue making cameras, camcorders & photo frames

Kodak
An unfortunate news has struck the hearts of many Kodak enthusiasts all over the world. The news has been leaked out that Kodak will no more produce digital cameras, photo frames and camcorders. For a certain extent, it was predictable as the financial ongoing woes of Kodak were not hidden. However, it is a sad new after all, as this is the end of an era of the Kodak family.

This news was announced by Kodak in views of phasing out the business of its capturing devices in the first half of 2012. This clearly indicates that all the Kodak cameras including its renowned pocket camcorders and digital photo frames will be announced as dead. The discontinue of products from Kodak could create rumble among public especially users who use or wanted to buy the affordable ranged Kodak products. However, the saddest thing has already done.

Though the company has planned to discontinue the productions of its products, but Kodak will still offer tech support as well as service to the discontinued products so that its users remain satisfied. Also, users who are using its Gadgets with active warranty-period will be honored with services from this company. Well, this move makes sense, but we must say that its pocket-friendly cam-corders have created a niche segment with dedicated enthusiasts who made them popular and gave a run for the money like Flip camcorder.

Apart from its capturing devices, Kodak will actively produce its ink-jet printers, online and retail photo printing, and camera accessories business. This also includes online photo printing and sharing service through the Kodak Gallery. Other than this, Kodak also has a range of other commercial businesses that deal with graphics, printing, and commercial film. So, if you are a Kodak brand lover then never worry for this discontinuing news as Kodak is still alive in the market in other forms. Who knows, if things go well then you may expect this brand to again reform its position strongly in the camera and camcorder segment.
